Ella Mae ‘Skee’ Carolus

LEWISTOWN - Ella Mae "Skee" Carolus, 85, of 30 Amanda Lane, Lewistown, died at 8:32 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at her home.

Born June 24, 1923, in Black Township, Somerset County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Martha (France) Baily. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Carolus, on July 31, 1988.

She is survived by: sons, James B. Carolus Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Lewistown and Charles S. Carolus, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Christina Willard and James B. Carolus III.; step grandchildren, Nole Stauffer, Sherri Stauffer Durst, Derrick Haines and Chad Haines; four great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert and a sister, Ethel and a granddaughter, Amanda Carolus.

She was employed as a domestic at various area businesses.

She was a member of the Pine Glen C&MA Church.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family and there will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 342 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan Street, Lewistown.
