Richard E. and Dorothy L. (Brannon) Beward, of Shippensburg, and former residents of Lewistown, celebrated their 61st anniversary on April 9, 2009.
They were married April 9, 1948, at the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Paul W. DeLauter, minister at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown.
Richard is the son of the late, Ernest and Esther (Stroup) Beward. Dorothy is the daughter of the late, Henry J. and . Dorothy M. (Casner) Brannon.
They are parents of a daughter, Pamela Gayle Beward, of Alexandria, Va.
