Joe and Connie Hunter, of McClure, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17 with a surprise walk-in party given by their children and families.
The couple was married on Jan. 17, 1959, at the Wagner United Church, with the Rev. Harold Ash officiating.
They have three children: Tim and wife, Karen, of McClure; Deb and husband, Donny, Nester, of Bumpass, Va.; and Andy and wife, Ruth, of McAlisterville. They have nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Joe is retired after having been an owner-operator in the trucking industry. He works part-time at H&H Garage.
Connie is a homemaker.
They attend Wagner United Church in Wagner.
They attribute their success in marriage to "give and take."
