A.Walter and Dorothy (Beckwith) Gill celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Dec. 20, 2008, quietly with family.
Walter was born in Troxellville, on June 11, 1913. Dorothy was born in Lewistown on March 25, 1913. They were married by Walter's cousin, Rev. George Fetteroff, in Freeburg.
They are the parents of Gary Gill, of Lewistown, and Lee Gill, of Freeland. They also have 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Walter is a retired Lewistown Area School District maintenance supervisor. He served in the U.S. Army in ordinance from 1943 to 1946 and between 1950 and 1951. Dorothy is retired from American Viscose Corp. Both are members of the First United Methodist Church in Lewistown.
When asked what led to the success of their marriage, Walter replied, "We both knew what we were getting into because we had waited awhile before getting married." When asked the same question, Dorothy said, "Marriage to Walter was the easiest part of my life."
