John and Sara Hayward, of Lewistown, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married Oct. 16, 1958, in Chester Hill, Philipsburg, by Brother David Wilkerson, now of New York City, who started "Teen Challenge."
They are the parents of John J. Hayward and Stacy L. Kirschner, of Meriden, Ct., and have two grandchildren, Katherine and Joseph Kirschner.

The Haywards are members of the First Baptist Church.
John retired from the Pennsylvania State Police, and Sara from area businesses.
Two years ago, they adopted a female Shih Tzu pup named Zip.
A family gathering was held earlier.
