Adelaide J. Pannebaker

MIFFLINTOWN - Adelaide J. Pannebaker, 85, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Mifflin and formerly of Rockville, died at 8:19 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Lewistown Hospital.

Born on Nov. 22, 1922, in Yeagertown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mabel E. (Snyder) Jenkins. Her husband, Joseph S. Pannebaker, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1946, preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2003.

Surviving are: two nephews, Joseph S. Walker Sr. and his wife, Joyce, of R.R. 4 Mifflintown, and Donald Walker and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Reedsville; one niece, Yvonne Bailey, of Lewistown; two great nephews, Joseph S. Walker Jr., of R.R. 5 Mifflintown, and Craig D. Walker, of HC 67, Mifflin; five great-nephews and two great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Rex Pannebaker, and she was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by one brother, Harold Jenkins, and one sister, Faye Walker.

Adelaide was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown and she had worked as a seamstress for Rae-Sel of Port Royal and Lyons Fashions of Mifflin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, from Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
