William B. Bowman Jr.
LEWISTOWN -William B. Bowman Jr. 73, a resident of the Malta Home, Granville and formerly of 190 Summit Drive, Lewistown, died at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 7, 1934, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late William B. Sr. and Thelma (Stauffer) Bowman. His wife, Shirley (McNitt) Bowman, preceded him in death on June 27, 2007.
Surviving is: a daughter, Amy Heller and her husband Joe, of 18 Cresmont Circle, Bloomsburg.
Also surviving: a brother, Dr. Dave Bowman and his wife Nancy, of Keswick, Va.; a sister, Mary Jane Noerr and her husband Richard, of Lewistown; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Joseph and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, he attended Lehigh University and served in the United States Army.
He was the former owner of Bowman's Furniture, a real estate agent and was last employed as a clerk at CVS Pharmacy. He was a volunteer at Lewistown Hospital.
Early in life, he was on the board of Central Counties Bank.
Bill loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc. 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be private at St. Mark's Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
