BELLEVILLE - Ruth Ella Yoder went to be with the Lord at 8:12 a.m. on July 26, 2008, at home.
Born in Allensville on June 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Raymond S. Peachey and Eldora L. Hertzler Peachey of Allensville. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Samuel L. Yoder, of Belleville on June 14, 2008.
Surviving are: her sons, Elwood, husband of Kim Lantz Yoder, of Harrisburg, Vernon, husband of Melissa Brandt Yoder, of Mount Joy, and Darl, husband of Luree Frey Yoder of Leola.
Ruth was blessed with eight grandchildren, Samuel, Arie, Ally, Jenae, MaKyla, Derek, Brittne and Alexis.
Also surviving are three sisters and one brother: Pauline Peachey Stucky, wife of Eugene Stucky, of Lennox, S.D., Leonard Peachey, married to Esther Peachey, of Belleville, Zelda Peachey Zook, wife of Byron Zook, of Mill Creek and Eleanor Peachey Stoltzfus, wife of Dave Stoltzfus, of Bridgewater, Va.
She was a member of Mountain View Mennonite church. She was involved in a number of Christian Ladies groups over the years as well as several Bible study groups.
Ruth loved to work outside in her flower gardens. She enjoyed making meals for people in need as well as sharing her gift of hospitality with family and friends.
She is leaving behind a legacy of being positive no matter what the situation, choosing to have a good attitude in the midst of difficulty and loving those around her in spite of differences.
Ruth would often send notes and cards of encouragement by expressing her caring heart and showing acts of kindness.
She loved the simple things in life such as: flowers, birds, sunsets, and the beach at Siesta Keys.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The past 10 years, Ruth and Sonny have enjoyed going to Florida over the winter months spending quality time together, shopping, fishing and playing games with friends.
A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on July 29, 2008, at Baggus Funeral Home, located at 3813 W. Main St., Belleville.
A celebration of her life will be held at Locust Gove Mennonite Church located at 3358 W. Main St., Belleville.
Open to public at 9:30 a.m., service to start at 10:30 a.m. on July 30, 2008, followed by the interment at Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be sent to Sun Home Hospice Care, 2 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044, in lieu of flowers.
