House ‘burned to the ground’ as two are taken to hospitalBy KIERNAN M. SCHALK, Sentinel reporter, kschalk@lewistownsentinel.com
MIFFLINTOWN - An early morning fire on Tuesday in Juniata County sent two people to the hospital and displaced a total of five people, two adults and three children, from their home on Texas Hollow Road in Walker Township.
"Apparently the house burned to the ground," Red Cross Financial Development Specialist Lurie Moir said of the mobile home.
Juniata County Emergency Services Director Allen Weaver said one person sustained minor injuries from fire.
Moir said both individuals who were transported to the hospital were later released.
Weaver said the cause of the fire has not be determined.
The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley is assisting the family and providing them with food and clothing.
"I believe they are staying with family," Moir added.
