Milan ‘Ted’ Kostich

NORTH IRWIN - Milan "Ted" Kostich, 65, of North Irwin, died Thursday, July 3, 2008.

He was born Nov. 26, 1942, in Charleroi, a son of the late Milaja and Danica (Senovich) Kostich.

Prior to his retirement, Ted was the groundskeeper for Norwin School District with 15 years of service. He was previously employed by Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh, as a maintenance mechanic.

He was a member of St. Sava Church in McKeesport, a former volunteer for Rescue 8, a Vietnam War veteran and a member of VFW Post 781.

He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 295 Webelos and Westinghouse Fire Department. He was active with many outdoor high school sports and coached midget football.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Millie Strelecki and Helen Rice.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Joan (Paranick) Kostich; three sons, Theodore M. and his wife Karen, of Thompsontown, Michael J. and his wife Crystal, of West Mifflin and Joseph M., of North Versailles; and a daughter, Nicole Silks and her husband Lucas, of Etter.

He was a loving grandfather to his nine grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, Teddy, Andy, Danica, Tyler, Kasumi, Brandon, and Justin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, in St. Sava Church, McKeesport. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thompsontown Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2 Birch Drive, Thompsontown, PA 17094.
