They were married in Wheeling, W. Va.
They are the parents of four children: Janet, of Newport; Elizabeth, of Mechanicsburg; David, of Thompsontown; and Timothy, of Mifflintown.
They have 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Early in their marriage, both had worked at the American Avisco and later, Jim worked for the railroad. After retirement, they opened Elder’s Consignment Shop, which has been in operation for 20 years, at their residence.
They have enjoyed many trips to the seashore where Jim pursues the hobby of metal detection. Hilda enjoys cross stitch embroidery, winning many ribbons at the local fairs and she also is computer literate. Both enjoy putting puzzles together.
