Shop finds the right location

LEWISTOWN — Melody Dull got the idea to open a consignment shop after she read an Open Line comment in The Sentinel in which the person stated the need for such a shop in the area.

After a bit of wrangling and looking around for a good location, Dull found the perfect spot on Electric Avenue, with plenty of parking right out front.

Dull said it’s a good, high traffic area that gives her plenty of customers.

“It’s going really well. People say they really like the prices,” Dull said of the mostly adult clothes available at the store.

“The prices are based on what I would want to pay if I was shopping here,” she added.

Dull said her customers also compliment her on the quality of the clothing and how clean they are.

“If the clothes are dirty when they come in, I take them home and clean them,” Dull said.

In addition to the clothing, Dull also sells a variety of products from Shade Mountain Primitives, of Lewisburg, including candles and potpourri.

Dull is always on the look out for new consignors.

She said eventually she will move into a bigger space, but for now the location on Electric Avenue is just what she wants to help her get the word out and build a strong client base.

“Some day I am going to buy a bigger place, after about a year or so, after I get established. That way, if people like me, they’ll follow me,” Dull said.
