Barry T. Stratford
MIFFLINTOWN — Barry T. Stratford, 73, of Mifflintown, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his home.
Born on May 3, 1935, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Dr. Troy W. and Rhoda M. (Crawford) Stratford. His wife, Betty A. (Pannebaker) Stratford, survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Bettyann Stratford, Doreen Aurand and her husband, Barry, Linda Haubert and her husband, Randy, all of Mifflintown. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Curtis Sieber, Justin Aurand, Kayla Aurand, Logan Aurand, Derek Haubert and Chelsea Haubert.
He was a 1954 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown, and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, as well as a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Earlier in his life, he owned and operated Stratford’s Gulf Station in Mifflintown, before owning Stratford’s Juniata Service Station, also of Mifflintown, and he retired from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., in State College, as a heavy equipment operator.
Barry enjoyed woodworking and spending time at Saw 5 with the guys.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, from the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the funeral home.
