William S. Kenepp
McVEYTOWN — William S. Kenepp, 90, of 415 Horningford Road, McVeytown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his home.
Born July 24, 1917, in Bratton Township, he was a son of the late Walter I. and Mary B. (Harshbarger) Kenepp. His first wife, Ethel C. (Kauffman) Kenepp, preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 1987. His second wife, Jeanette I. (Piper) Kenepp, whom he married Oct. 4, 1988, survives.
Also surviving are: foster children, H. Robert Ritchey, Port Henry, N.Y., Elsie A. Linn, Milroy, Lester E. Stine, Moseley, Va., Vinton E. Hartley, Schenectady, N.Y., and several other foster children that he raised.
He is also survived by a stepson, Joseph E. Kenepp, and wife, Leah, Lewistown; a stepdaughter, Gayle Lynch and husband, Larry, Yeagertown; four step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Jespersen, Milton and George.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer in Bratton Township for 43 years, retiring in 1982. He also sold seed and fertilizer for a number of years.
He was a member and Deacon of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren and a member of the men’s Bible Sunday school class of the church.
He also served as a Bratton Township Supervisor for several years and served five years as secretary and treasurer of the Mifflin County Farmers Association.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Donald E. Peters Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 67 Pine Glen Road, and to Hospice-The Bridge, 400 Highland Ave., 2nd floor, both of Lewistown, PA 17044.
