WILMINGTON, Del. — Michele Lee Jacobs, 44, of Churchman Village Nursing Home, Newark, Del., and formerly of Wilmington, Del., died at 10:15 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008, at the home.

Born on April 23, 1964, in Wilmington, New Castle County, she is a daughter of Mary E. (Lauver) Scharf and Donald B. Jacobs and her stepmother, Sherry Jacobs, all of Wilmington.

Surviving are her paternal grandmother, Evelyn “Gram” Jacobs; two brothers, Donald Brian Jacobs and his wife, Tricia, A. J. Jacobs; one nephew, Todd Jacobs; one niece, Alexis Jacobs, one stepbrother, Bobby Crowley, one stepsister, Sherry Vickery, and she leaves behind her fiance, Stew Stewart, all of Wilmington.

She was a 1982 graduate of Garnet Valley High School, Delaware County, Pa., and a member of the Cedars United Methodist Church, Wilmington.

Michele worked as a clerk in the retail industry, before her disability.

An animal lover and an avid Notre Dame football fan, Michele also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her niece and nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, from the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Kenneth Kitzmiller officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Memorial Gardens, RR 4, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial service to honor Michele will be held on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. from the Cedars United Methodist Church, Wilmington.
