Harry L. Milliken

McCULLOCHS MILLS — Harry L. Milliken, 76, of R.R.1 Honey Grove (McCullochs Mills), died at 10:54 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on Sept. 4, 1931, in McCullochs Mills, Juniata County, he is a son of the late Thomas and Violet (Kirk) Milliken. His wife of more than 39 years, Joan M. (Wilt) Milliken, whom he married on March 22, 1969, survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Lou Ann Julian and her husband, Ronald, of Middletown, Robert H. Milliken and his fiance, Teresa Lehman, of Fountain Inn, S.C., Thomas M. Milliken and his wife, Teresa, of McCullochs Mills; one step-daughter, Robin Wilt, at home; one sister, Norma Crouse and her husband, Lyle, of McCullochs Mills; and he leaves behind six grandchildren.

One brother, James Milliken, preceded him in death.

Mr. Milliken was a 1951 graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Retiring as a mechanic with Super Rite Foods in Harrisburg, he also was a self-employed farmer who enjoyed farming the family homestead, where he was born and lived.

He was a member of the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R.1 Honey Grove, the Tuscarora Grange 774, where he was past master, the Pomona Grange, State and National Granges and the American Legion Post 945, Wormleysburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28, from the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R.1 Honey Grove, with Pastor Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in McCullochs Mills Cemetery, where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, April 27, at the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the Church.
