David L. Snyder

MILLERSTOWN — David L. Snyder, 46, of Millerstown, passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, April 19, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He had been of ill health for one year.

On Oct. 3, 1981, he married the former Arlene Martin, who survives.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1961, in Ephrata, the son of Evelyn (Sensenig) Snyder of Ephrata, and William Snyder, who also survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his six children; Nolan and Delores (Mack) Snyder, Mount Pleasant Mills; Brent Snyder and his fiancee, Kayla Freed, North East; Tristan, Ian, Amanda, and Andrea Snyder, all at home; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Bonita and Bruce Martin, Narvon, and Patricia and Dennis Neuenschwander, Leetonia, Ohio; and his nieces and nephews.

David was engaged in farming. He was a member and a minister of Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, of Mount Pleasant Mills.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, and for the funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, all from Shade Mountain Mennonite Church, Center St. Mount Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Bishop Earl Ray Hursh, Bishop Ivan Martin Jr., Minister Eugene Burkholder and Minister Arthur Nolt. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family respectfully requests no flowers, but asks that memorial contributions be made in David’s memory to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, P.O. Box 266, Enola, PA 17025. The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 state Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, is entrusted with arrangements.
