Randy D. Knepp

MIDDLEBURG — Randy D. Knepp, 53, of 626 Sale Barn Road, passed away early Thursday afternoon, April 10, 2008, at Groce’s Campground in Beavertown, where he suddenly became ill.

He was born Nov. 15, 1954, in Lewistown. He was a son of the late Glen A. and L. Jean (Laub) Knepp. On Aug. 16, 1980, he married the former Teresa A. Grose, who survives.

Randy was a 1972 graduate of West Snyder High School.

Following graduation, he entered the Navy, and served until he was honorably discharged on May 29, 1978.

In 1978, he began employment with PPL, first at the Sunbury station and, later, at the Brunner Island power plant. Since 2004, he was employed at the Washingtonville plant.

Randy was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Middleburg.

He also was a member of American Legion Post 942 in McClure.

Randy enjoyed playing computer games and doing crossword puzzles. His grandchildren were the great joy of his life.

He described himself as a jack of all trades and master of none.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: three sons and one daughter-in-law, Phillip G. and his wife, Tracy, of Beavertown, Steven J. Knepp and Andrew W. Knepp, both of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Leighanne, Taylor, Gavin and EmmeJean; one sister and a brother-in-law, Glenda J. and Ron Dreese, of McAlisterville; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian G. and Deb Knepp, of McClure, and Leon K. and Christine Knepp, of Beaver Springs.

Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Middleburg by his Pastor, the Rev. William D. Jones. Burial, with military honors, will be in Paxtonville Cemetery.
