Penn St. CB Timmons ordered into program for 1st-time offenders
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - A Penn State defensive back charged with two misdemeanors for an encounter with police following a fight involving teammates must serve a year in a probation program.
A Centre County judge placed Knowledge Timmons in the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program designed for first-time, nonviolent offenders.
Timmons was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass for an incident directly after an Oct. 7 fight. Those charges can be dismissed and his record expunged if Timmons completes the program and is not arrested again.
Timmons was suspended from the team this spring, though coach Joe Paterno recently allowed the backup cornerback to start working out with the squad again.
