Basketball (and football) Jones

April 19, 2008 - Jeff Fishbein
Lewistown Athletic Director Rick Keefer tells us that Thursday's Central Penn League baseball action seemed more like a football Friday. How's this for scores: 11-10, 16-16 (presumably suspended?), 21-14, 15-9 and 16-2.

Combined total: 130 runs. Actually, that sounds more like a score a Michael Jordan team would put up.

Speaking of basketball, I sadly note the retirement of Bucknell men's coach Pat Flannery. I covered three of his teams, including the two that qualified for the NCAA tournament. Pat, a coal region native who graduated from Bucknell, found great success with the Blue and Orange, although nagging health issues have affected him of late.

Contestants have been briefed on some questions before blogging.
